Personal:
Donovan was born in Worcester, MA...is currently majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology at Worcester State...the son of Derek Alfama, who payed ice hockey at Norwich University, and Laura Sears...has one sibling, Avery...favorite spot on campus is the Athletic Center...choose Worcester State because it was the hometown school and could not pass up the oppurtunity to be going to college in my own stopping grounds

Donovan is a 2021 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA...played three years of varsity ice hockey for the Mountaineers...member of the 2018 State Championship team and 2018 and 2019 District Championship teams....2019 had most wins by goaltender in school history and most wins by a team in school hisotry...named 2019 All-Tournament MVP and Team MVP

Lancers Battle Owls in Ice Hockey Quarterfinals

Worcester, MA- In the start to the MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey post season the #6 Worcester State Lancers (10-11-4, 3-8-3) journeyed to the #3 Westfield State (16-7-2, 9-3-2) for the Quarterfinal meeting. The Owls claimed the victory in both the previous meeting with the Laners, taking home a 4-2 win in November and a 2-1 victory earlier this month.

Deraney had 319 wins during his tenure with the Providence College Women’s Ice Hockey team, before joining Worcester State in the 2021 season.
