Final
Worcester State: 0
Fitchburg State: 4
How it Happened:
Looking to go out on a high note before the thanksgiving break, the Blue and Gold would have an even offensive attack with the defending MASCAC Champs throughout the first period. Worcester would have momentum early in the game with a few shots from junior Matthew Nuzzolio (Shrewsbury, MA) and junior Christian Howanitz (Colorado Springs, CO) but could not get past the Fitchburg keeper. Fitchburg would dominate offensive possession towards the end of the period but junior Donovan Alfama (Douglas, MA) would deny the Falcons a score. Alfama would finish with 10 saves and at the end of the first.
The start of the second period would be deja-vu for Fitchburg offensively as Fitchburg would snag the first goal of the game three minutes in the period. Worcester would be able to claim two power plays during the stretch but Fitchburg would kill both off and the Worcester momentum midway the second period. The Falcons would snag a power play a few minutes after killing off the Lancer power play and would capitalize and would extend the lead 2-0. Alfama would record 11 saves during the period but Worcester would trail 2-0 with 20 to go in the game.
The third would see the Blue and Gold on the attack to begin the period and come away with another power play but the Falcons would once again kill the power play momentum for the Blue and Gold. Fitchburg would snag two more goals in the period and would run away with the win 4-0.
Donovan Alfama would anchor the net down with 27 saves.
