In collaboration with Worcester State University Advancement, and the Binienda Center for Civic Engagement the DeFeudis Wellness Center offers a bike rental program. Whether it is a casual ride into the City of Worcester, a quick trip to CVS or the grocery store, or a ride to go Hike Worcester- we have you covered!

Membership

In order to utilize the bikes on AND off campus a membership will need to be purchased either in person or through the Wellness Center Portal. Membership fees are collected to ensure that the bikes are continually maintained and in great working order. 

Replacement costs if lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged beyond repair;

Bike $500.00

Helmet $70.00

Locks $50.00

Lights $50.00

Bikes are constantly in use. Access to a bike is never guarenteed.

Duration

Bikes can be checked out for as little as an hour, or up to 3 days - then it needs to be checked back in (if available, it can be checked back out)*. During its checkout, the rider will be required to wear the helmet provided AND make sure the bike is appropriately locked in a proper location when not in use. Member will be responsible for returning the bike in the same condition that it was check out in. Normal wear and tear is expected. *Bikes can and will be "repossessed" if and when necessary on campus if not returned/checked in appropriately.

Checking Out/In a Bike

All bikes are checked out and in from the DeFeudis Wellness Center during normal hours of operation. During check out (after you have a valid membership) you will be issued a kit. The kit will include your helmet, and a lock combination associated with your assigned bike. Upon returning the bike, based on your check out period (up to 3 days), you will be asked to report any issues with the bike so that any necessary repairs can be made.

Bikes are taken out of use as soon as Worcester State University spreads its first round of salt for the winter months.

Bike will be returned to use when most appropriate.
