Howanitz and Alfama Claim Opening Week MASCAC Weekly Honors

Worcester, MA- After claiming their first WooCup Championship on Sunday night the Lancers extended their honors with two named to the MASCAC Weekly Honors. Juniors Christian Howanitz (Colorado Springs, CO) and Donovan Alfama (Douglas, MA) claimed the Player and Goalie of the Week honors on a 2-0 week.

Howanitz was named to the WooCup All Tournament team after recording three goals in the weekend, including the game winner in the 4-1 Championship game win over Anna Maria. Had a goal in the 3-2 win over Assumption.

Alfama claimed two wins to begin the season and the MVP of the WooCup Tournament after guiding the Lancers to their First WooCup Championship win after taking down Assumption and then Anna Maria. Finished with 82 saves, .965 save percentage and a 1.49 GAA on the weekend.

Worcester State is back in action on Thursday in their home opener as they host Salem State for a 7:10 puck drop.
