News mentions
Worcester, MA- With the final game of the regular season the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (11-11-2, 8-7-2) is battling it out for fourth seed finish for the MASCAC Tournament. With a few point lead on Fitchburg State, who’s game versus Westfield was postponed in the second period on Thursday, the final seeding is up in the air but a win tonight over Salem State would help the Lancers chances in claiming the home ice advantage in the opening round action.
Worcester, MA- As the final games of the regular season hit the schedule, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-10-2, 7-6-2) are back in the conference schedule as they take on Anna Maria in a rescheduled meeting. This meeting between the two teams was initially scheduled for February 6th, but the severe weather of the day forced the game back to today as the Lancers play their 5th game in just 10 days. Worcester, MA- After dropping their first game in five matches this past Tuesday, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-9-1, 7-6-1) continue to hunker down into the home stretch as they continue their stretch of 3 games a week this week with their Thursday night meeting with MCLA. Worcester, MA- Tonight’s Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey Game (9-8-1, 6-5-1) is being played in honor of sophomore student-athlete Evan Armit, who was earlier this season diagnosed with Melanoma. The team has rallied around the cause, and with the help of the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund, designed Black Jersey’s to be worn during the game with donations and bids being accepted leading up to the game. Proceeds from tonight’s game will go to the Armit Family and the Rosen Fund, created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, which aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late stage cancer and increase longevity.
