Lancers Stay Undefeated with Victory over Buccaneers
Worcester, MA- After taking down the Rams on Wednesday night, the Worcester State Women’s Lacrosse team (9-5, 4-0) journeyed to Mass. Maritime to take on the Buccaneers in a road conference trip that could help the Lancers solidify a top two finish in conference.

How it Happened:
The Lancers would go on the attack first as junior Meghan Bowen (Westfield, MA) would snag the pass from senior Shannon Donahue (Dennis, MA). Mass. maritime would respond with a goal of their own of their own before junior Madigan Kelley (Bourne, MA) would grab a second assist from Donahue before first year Fallon Lozano (Upton, MA) would make it three for Donahue on the assist and an assist senior Molly Witkowski (Greenville, NY) for the 4-1 lead. Junior Kerry Brown (Billerica, MA) would make it 5-1 before a goal one repeat with Bowen grabbing her second from Donahue. The Buccaneers would make it 6-2 before Donahue grabbed a goal to go with the mountain of assists. First year Meghan Heffernan (Westminster, MA) would wrap up the first quarter scoring with an assist from Witkowski for the 8-2 quarter lead.
The second would be started by Lozano from Witkowski before Brown would get another goal with an assist from Witkowski. Witkowski was the delivery service of the quarter as she sent an assist again to Lozano for the 11-2 lead. Mass. Maritime would snag in a third goal before first year Kylee Fennelly (Weymouth, MA) would end the half with Worcester up 12-3, this time from Heffernan.
The third quarter would find Mass. Maritime grabbed two goals to set the score at 12-5 before Witkowski would go back to back on goals and Fennelly would snag a second. The final quarter would find Donahue recording goal 16 from first year Ciara Reilly (Wilbraham, MA) before the Buccaneers would wrap up the game with three final goals for 16-8.
What's Next:
Worcester (10-5, 5-0) has the rest of the weekend off before taking another road trip on Tuesday to Westfield State in a battle for the top seed in the conference at 7pm.
