Keene, NH --- Sixth seeded Worcester State dropped two games today as they lost to #2 Lesley University, 15-7, and to fifth seeded Bridgewater State, 4-1, in the loser bracket game. Sophomore Lauren Besozzi chipped in with three hits as the Lancers were eliminated from the tournament.
Springfield, MA --- Sophomore Erica Cordio went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs, three walks while classmate Stephanie Mullen homered and drove in the game-winning single as sixth seeded Worcester State upset #3 Western New England College this afternoon in the opening round of the ECAC Division III Softball tournament.

Westfield, MA --- Worcester State lost to Framingham State, 9-8, on the back of a seven-run rally in the top of the sixth inning. WSC was paced in the losing effort by sophomore Erica Cordio who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBIs.
Salem, MA -- Salem State scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to defeat Worcester State this afternoon in the opening round of the MASCAC Softball Tournament. The loss puts the Lancers in the losers bracket against Framingham and they will play at Westfield State on Saturday at 11 AM.
At a time when most players her age were just beginning their collegiate softball careers, it looked as though Erica Cordio's days on the diamond were over. Cordio's stellar production as a member of the Leominster High School team translated into a scholarship to play for the University of Rhode Island. Before the end of her first semester in 2008, however, what had been a nagging injury turned into a severe setback as Cordio tore the ligaments in her left wrist.
Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior southpaw Michaella Mahoney and sophomore shortstop Erica Cordio have each received a nod to the All-MASCAC second team in a vote by league coaches earlier this week. Both were instrumental in helping the Lancers reach their first MASCAC Tournament since 2004 and earn their first winning season since 2002.
Cape Cod, MA --- The Worcester State Softball team will play Western New England College on Wednesday in the 2010 ECAC Division III New England Tournament at 4 PM. The Lancers earned the sixth seed in the tournament and travel to play the #3 Golden Bears in the first round of the tournament.
Worcester, MA --- Worcester State and Bridgewater State split a doubleheader this afternoon on the final weekend of MASCAC regular season play. Sophomore Erica Cordio crossed the plate in a come-from-behind 4-3 triumph for the Lancers in the first game before the Bears used a six-run fourth frame to defeat WSC 10-3 in the nightcap.
Worcester, MA --- Fitchburg State scored nine runs over the final two frames to post a 10-4 game one victory before Worcester State received a clutch two-out RBI single by freshman Alex Kerr in a 8-6 comeback triumph as both teams drew a split this evening in MASCAC softball action at Rockwood Park.

Worcester, MA --- Worcester State split a MASCAC doubleheader with Framingham State this afternoon as the Rams defeated the Lancers, 4-2, in the opener before WSC came back to win the second game, 4-3, off the bat of sophomore Erica Cordio in the bottom of the eighth.
Worcester, MA --- Worcester State defeated Becker College 8-0 and 14-3 this afternoon at WPI’s Class of 1893 field in non conference softball action in a pair of five inning games. The Lancers blanked the Hawks behind an outstanding performance by junior left hander Michaella Mahoney in the first game and in the second contest the Lancers used three home runs to help post the triumph.
Salem, MA --- Salem State defeated Worcester State 3-2 and 3-0 as the Lancers are now tied with Framingham State for second place in the MASCAC. WSC was paced by sophomore Ashley Howe who tallied three hits in the doubleheader.
North Adams, MA --- Worcester State defeated MCLA 2-0 and 4-2 to improve their record to 14-10 and 6-0 in conference play. The Lancers were paced by a three-hit shutout by junior Michaella Mahoney in the opener and a key two-run single by sophomore Erica Cordio in the nightcap.
