Cambridge, MA --- Junior Jason Sliwoski registered 2,591 points for fifth place in the heptathlon this afternoon at the Division III New England Championships hosted by MIT. He had the third-best leap in the long jump and the third-longest toss in the shot put.
New Orleans, LA --- The Worcester State men’s track and field team has earned their highest-ever ranking in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III computer rankings.
Boston, MA --- Senior captain Mark Johnson ran the meet of his career to take the top spot as he helped the Worcester State indoor track team place 11th scoring 17 of the teams 20 points at the New England Division III regionals hosted by MIT.
Worcester, MA --- This weekend is the New England Division III regionals where both indoor track teams will have a good showing for the postseason in representing both the MASCAC and Worcester State College. The women will be traveling to Bowdoin while the mens meet is at MIT.
Gorham, ME --- Senior Mark Johnson and freshman Ian Fields each took home individual titles in the long jump and the high jump, respectively, as the Lancers took third at the MASCAC Championships. WSC also placed sixth at the New England Alliance meet. Johnson also qualified for the ECAC's in the triple jump and the 55 meter dash.
Worcester, MA --- Sophomore classmates Andrea Ouellette and RJ Stahelski have been named MASCAC Track and Field Athletes for their performances at the Tartan Invitational this past weekend. Junior Jim Macera and freshman Sarah Rafferty were also tabbed to the honor roll for their accomplishments.
Northampton, MA --- Junior Jim Macera notched third with a toss of 15.12 meters in the weight throw to qualify for the ECAC championships while sophomore Robert Stahelski reset the school record in the 600 meter run as the mens indoor track team placed fifth Saturday at the Tartan Invitational hosted by Smith.
Norton, MA --- Senior Mark Johnson qualified for the ECACs while junior James Macera set the standard for the Division III New Englands as the Mens Indoor Track and Field team placed third at the Wheaton Invitational this past Saturday.
Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Christina Bisbee and senior Mark Johnson have each been named MASCAC Track Athletes of the Week after their performances this past weekend at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University. The accolade marked the second straight time this season that Johnson has been selected.
Middletown, CT --- Senior Mark Johnson tied for second in the 200 meter dash (23.04) while he placed third in the 400 (51.24) to help pace the Lancers this past Saturday at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University. With his time in the 400, Johnson has now qualified for the Division III regionals in four events.
