Westfield, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper has been selected as this year’s recipient of the MASCAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and she was also chosen as the conferences nomination for the NCAA Woman of the Year award in a vote by the leagues eight athletic directors last week.
Westfield, MA --- Senior Alexandria McMahon was one of five Worcester State student-athletes chosen to the MASCAC Winter Sportsmanship team as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.
Winston-Salem, NC --- Senior Alyssa Jasper tallied 3,225 points for 14th place in the indoor pentathlon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships held at the JDL Fast Track this afternoon. She impressed the field by winning the shot put.
Indianapolis, IN --- Senior Alyssa Jasper has been chosen to participate in this week’s NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships as announced by the selection committee on Monday morning.
New York, NY --- Senior Alyssa Jasper won the penathlon and the 4x200 meter relay scored points as both performances helped the Worcester State women's indoor track and field team tie for 30th at the ECAC Division III Championships at the NYC Armory.
Boston, MA --- Underscored by the 58.00 second split by senior Alexandria McMahon, the 4x400 meter relay team placed 22nd and eclipsed a school record to help lead the Worcester State women's indoor track and field team at the Open New England Championships with a time of 4:00.38.
Westfield, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper has been tabbed MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week for her remarkable two-day performance for Worcester State at the Division III New England Indoor Championships.
Northampton, MA --- Highlighted by the 4x200 meter relay, the Worcester State women’s indoor track team placed 17th overall at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Smith. It marked the sixth time in the last seven years a 4x200 relay has earned All-New England honors for the Lancers.
Springfield, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper captured second place out of 15 entrants with 3,236 points in the pentathlon on the first day of the Division III New England Championships this evening hosted by Smith. Jasper was second in the 60 meter hurdles, 800 meters and shot put.
On Wednesday, February 4, members of the women’s track and field squad put together care packages for the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center. 35 bags, which were dropped off a week later on February 11, were stuffed with a variety of stickers, different colored hearts and other miscellaneous items.
Providence, RI --- The 4x200 meter relay team, underscored a trio of conference titles to help lead the Worcester State women’s indoor track and field team to third overall at the MASCAC/Alliance Championships this afternoon at the Providence Career and Technical High School.
Medford, MA --- Senior Brittany Hodgerney qualified for the Division III New England Championships with fifth overall in the 200 meters (26.93) as she helped lead the Worcester State women’s indoor track and field team to a tie for eighth overall at the Tufts Cupid Invitational.
Middletown, CT --- Senior Alexandria McMahon qualified for the Division III New England Championships in two events as she helped lead the Worcester State women’s indoor track and field team at the non-scoring Wesleyan Invitational this afternoon.
Medford, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper registered four top eight individual performances - including second place in the long jump (16-2/4.93 meters) as she helped pace Worcester State to eighth at the Tufts Invitational this afternoon.
Hanover, NH --- Underscored by the ECAC qualifying performance of the 4x200 meter relay team of junior Nichole Tillery along with senior classmates Alexandria McMahon, Alyssa Jasper and Brittany Hodgerney, the Worcester State women's indoor track team tied for 10th overall at the 46th Dartmouth Relays.
Roxbury Crossing, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper had a trio of postseason qualifying finishes as she highlighted several strong performances for the Worcester State women’s track and field team on Saturday afternoon at the non-scoring UMass Open, which was held at the Reggie Lewis Center.
