Lancers Fall in Tight Fight with Wolves
Worcester, MA- As the lancers continue to keep their strong start alive, they Women’s Soccer team (6-2-1, 4-0) heads out of conference for a meeting with Western Connecticut tonight. Last year’s meeting between the two teams found Worcester State claiming the 1-0 victory on home turf, something they are looking to replicate on the Wolves pitch tonight.

How it Happened:
In a fairly balanced first half, the Wolves and Lancers shifted across the turf, each team looking to find the edge on their opponent. Each team would close the opening 45 minutes with four shots while the Lancers had the edge with three on goal to WestConn's two. The difference in the half was found in the 28' minute when the Wolves snuck a shot past the Lancers defense for a 1-0 lead at the half.
The second half would continue in the same vein as the first with Worcester firing away at the Wolves defense who in return would put the pressure on the Lancers. While each team had some valiant efforts at a goal, it would be a shutout on both sides in the second as West Conn held on to claim the 1-0 victory.
What's Next:
The Lancers (6-3-1, 4-0) are back in action at home on Saturday at 5:30pm when they host Bridgewater State in a pivotal conference battle on Homecoming.
