Fisher and Kelley Named MASCAC Players of the Week
Worcester, MA- After claiming their second MASCAC Championship in a row, the Worcester State Lancers had two selected as MASCAC Players of the Week. Senior Mckayla Fisher (Peabody, MA), offensive player of the week, and junior Madigan Kelley (Bourne, MA) defensive player of the week, were tabbed with the honor.
Worcester, MA- After claiming their second MASCAC Championship in a row, the Worcester State Lancers had two selected as MASCAC Players of the Week. Senior Mckayla Fisher (Peabody, MA), offensive player of the week, and junior Madigan Kelley (Bourne, MA) defensive player of the week, were tabbed with the honor.
Fisher netted four goals, four assists, seven ground balls, nine draw controls and five caused turnovers to earn Tournament MVP honors as the Lancers repeated as MASCAC Champions. Netted a goal and assist in the 12-5 semifinal win over Framingham State. Added three goals and three assists, including the game-tying goal to force overtime in the 14-13 championship win over Westfield State.
Kelley finished with 10 draw controls, six ground balls, three caused turnovers and three goals to help the Lancers to back-to-back MASCAC Tournament titles. Recorded her career 200th draw control in the MASCAC Championship game where she had nine, with 10 total in the week. Added the game-winning goal in overtime in the 14-13 victory.
Worcester State is back in action next Saturday when they take on Messiah at TCNJ.
