Lancers Fall in Thursday Night Battle to Nor’Easters
Worcester, MA- After a thrilling finish at the Bagley Invitational Championship the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (6-6, 4-1) remain on the road to take on UNE in a Thursday night faceoff.

How it Happened:
In the late night battle between the Nor'Eastersand Lancers was a tight battle early as each team worked their way around the ice looking for chances. UNE would grab the first goal, off a power play, with thirteen minutes gone but it was quickly answered by sophomore Emily John (Clinton, MA) just three minutes later for a tie score. In the final seconds UNE would tuck in a second to claim the advantage into the first intermission.
The second half started with a UNE run as they grabbed their third goal just seconds into the period on their second power play goal of the game. Just a few minutes later they would add on goal number with another power play scoring opportunity. Worcester would slow down the Nor'Easters for the back half of the period but were unable to cut into the lead by the close of action.
The final period of regulation was a battle but in the final seconds UNE tapped in goal number five to claim the 5-1 win as they capitalized on the power play on the night for the win.
Sophomore Maverick Margraf ended the night with 28 saves with first years Princess Delano (Mountainside, NJ) and Lindsay Wagner (Waterbury, VT) adding the assists on Johns goal for Worcester.
What's Next:
Worcester State (6-7, 4-1) is right back in action tomorrow at 3pm when they are back on home ice to host the Curry Colonels.
