Lancers Make it Three in a Row for ECHA Champions, Defeating Rivier in OT

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team (12-13-1, 9-2-1) looks to complete the three peat sweep of the ECHA tournament in the conference’s final season of action before the teams move to the MASCAC for the 2024-25 season. The Lancers have won the previous two championships, defeating the Anna Maria AMCATs 2-1 in the inaugural season and 3-2 last year. This championship will see the Lancers square up with a new contender after Rivier (12-10-3, 6-4-2) defeated the AMCATs in overtime on Friday night in a 1-0 battle.

In the final year of the ECHA conference, the Lancers look to claim the bragging rights as the lone champions of the conference, before all the teams move to the newly created MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey conference next year.
