LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced 364 players chosen for the 2016 NFCA Division III All-Region softball teams this week. As in the past, the squad is comprised of three teams in each of the country’s eight NCAA regions.

ITHACA, N.Y. – After the Lancers fell to Moravian College in Friday’s game, the Mount Saint Mary Knights edged the Worcester State 3-2 to eliminate the Lancers in the NCAA Division III Regional softball tournament on Saturday (May 14) at Kostrinsky Field.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Worcester State University softball team’s first game in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament has been delayed two hours and will now begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday (May 13) at the host site, Ithaca College.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Moravian College Greyhounds (36-4) defeated the Worcester State Lancers (26-19-1) 9-1 in five innings of play in the first round of the NCAA Division III Regional tournament, as the Greyhounds scored their nine on 11 hits and three Lancer errors.

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University softball team was crowned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournament Champions on Sunday (May 8) as they swept Bridgewater State in two games. Worcester State’s senior pitcher, Meghan Rich (Chelmsford, Mass.) was awarded the tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) award as she listed a sweep in the circle to help her team to the triumph.

Lancers and Bears Advance to MASCAC Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. – After falling behind in game one, the Worcester State Lancers came back with two wins, in turn, earning a spot in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship. The Bridgewater State Bears also advanced as they shutout Salem State in their sole game of the day 9-0.

WESTFIELD, Mass. — Sophomore Sydney Despres of Worcester State has been named the 2016 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year and heads the all-conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.

WORCESTER, Mass. – After a 4-0 week for the Worcester State softball team, the Lancers not only were named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions, but they headlined the MASCAC softball weekly awards as sophomore Sydney Despres (Sterling, Mass.) and pitcher Meghan Rich (Chelmsford, Mass.) were named player of the week and rookie of the week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 25- May 1.

Lancers Celebrate Senior Day with Doubleheader Sweep of Fitchburg State

WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester State (20-17-1, 10-2 MASCAC) completed a doubleheader sweep over Fitchburg State (15-17, 5-7 MASCAC) Wednesday afternoon with great pitching performances from Meghan Rich (Chelmsford, Mass), Kayla Humphrey (Wallingford, Conn) and Marissa Avanzato (Pittsfield, Mass) that resulted in 5-0 and 6-3 victories.
