Worcester State Women's Cross Country Take Home Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country team has claimed fourth in the MASCAC Preseason Poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State finished last season finishing fourth in the conference standings at the MASCAC Championship. The Lancers hit the course this weekend at the Jim Sheehan Invite at Fitchburg State as they begin their training to take home the championship this season.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country team has claimed fourth in the MASCAC Preseason Poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State finished last season finishing fourth in the conference standings at the MASCAC Championship. The Lancers hit the course this weekend at the Jim Sheehan Invite at Fitchburg State as they begin their training to take home the championship this season.
Claiming the top spot is Westfield State with 34 points and four first place votes, just edging out Bridgewater State at 31 points and two first place votes. Framingham State claimed third with the last first place vote and 25 points.
Landing in fourth is Worcester State with 20 points. Leah Berg would lead the way for the Lancers at last season's championship with a 12th place finish in a time of 20:32.
Sitting in fifth is Fitchburg State with 17 points, ahead of Mass. Maritime with 14 points and MCLA at six.
Over the next few weeks, the six MASCAC women's cross-country teams will begin their season culminating with the MASCAC Championship on November 1 hosted by Westfield State.
