Lancers Advance Past Trailblazers in MASCAC Quarterfinals
Worcester, MA- With the kick off of the MASCAC Volleyball tournament, the #5 seeded Worcester State Lancers travelled west for a rematch with MCLA. The Trailblazers took down the Lancers earlier in the season, and Worcester was aiming for a repeat of last year's upset to advance to the MASCAC Semifinals.

How it Happened:
The Lancers came into the match with determination as they took on the Trailblazer in an early evening meeting. Worcester would claim the three set sweep (25-20, 25-22, 25-22). The squad displayed drive and intensity as they opened up the first round of the MASCAc tournament.
Worcester would claim 12 kills in the opening set and 14 in the second with an uptick in their hitting percentage of .200 from the first. While the third set would find Worcester slowing down their attack a degree they still recorded 12 kills with a .200 attacking percentage to claim the sweep. Senior Cassidy D'Esposito (Medford, NY) would lead the Lancers with 12 kills on the night with sophomore Katherine Crateau (North Andover, MA) recording 24 digs.
What's Next:
With the win, Worcester advances to the MASCAC semifinal to either face #1 Bridgewater at 6pm on Thursday or #2 Westfield State at 7:30pm, to be determined with the conclusion of the other MASCAC quarterfinal match between Framingham and Salem State.
