Lopez Claims MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors

Worcester, MA- After a top notch meet on Friday at the CGA Bear Invite for the Women's Indoor Track and Field team, first year Jenna Lopez (West Springfield, MA) was picked this week's MASCAC Rookie of the Week.

Lopez captured first place in the shot put with a throw of 11.39m at the Coast Guard meet. Lopez also added a seventh-place finish in the weight throw with a top distance of 10.50m. She currently sits at 14th in the East Region in the shot put.

Worcester State Track and Field is back in action on Sunday afternoon as they compete in the MASCAC Champioonship at Wheaton College, hosted by Westfield State.
