Worcester Goes the Distance at Tiger Open
Worcester, MA- A distance group of four made the trip to the Reggie Lewis Center this afternoon to compete in the Tiger Open for the Worcester State Women's Indoor Track team on Friday afternoon.
Worcester, MA- A distance group of four made the trip to the Reggie Lewis Center this afternoon to compete in the Tiger Open for the Worcester State Women's Indoor Track team on Friday afternoon.
Senior Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) would lead off the racing in the mile where she claimed a ninth place finish in a time of 5:50.18 for a new personal record in the event.
First years Cadence Carr (Upton, MA) and Abby Matta (West Bridgewater, MA) would be up next on the track in the 1000m. Carr would cross in eight with a time of 3:33.40, just edging out Matta who finished in ninth in a time of 3:53.54.
Closing out the Lancers competitive Friday was first year Anna Serafini (Leominster, MA) who claimed a personal record in the 3000m to go alongside the fifth place finish, with a time of 11:33.45.
Worcester State will be back in action tomorrow with a trip to Smith for the Mary Grinaker Invitational.
