Field Events Shine as Lancers Finish Third at MASCAC Championship
Worcester, MA- In the long awaited season culmination the Worcester State Women’s Track and Field team took to the track, pits and circles as they looked to garner a top finish at the 2025 Outdoor MASCAC Track and Field Championship. Claiming 106 points on the day, the Lancers finished in third and brought home championships in long jump and shot put.

Field events were the name of the game for the Lancers as sophomore Ciara Adu-Addo (Worcester, MA) claimed not only the championship but also set a new school record in the long jump recording a 5.68m mark. Sophomore Alexis Strong (Southington, CT) would finish third in the event with a landing of 5.03m. Worcester would grab some additional points in the high jump with sophomore Lauren Condike (East Longmeadow, MA) claiming fifth with a 1.46m height. First year Alexandria LaPointe (Fall River, MA) would reach 1.41m, good for a seventh place finish. First Emily Bodwell (Lakevile, MA) would take home sixth in the triple jump, recording a 9.55m mark.
Condike would also claim fourth in the 100m hurdles with a 17.61 to wrap up her day.
The Lancers would grab a second championship on the day with sophomore Jadah Stokes (Chicopee, MA) finishing first in the shot put with a 12.23m toss. Finishing fourth in the shot out was graduate student Sthanisha Moreau (Taunton, MA) with a 10.82m. Junior Ava Piccolo (Tewksbury, MA) would place 10th on a 9.40m just edging out first year Angela Crognalo-Torres (Walpole, MA) in 11th at 9.28m. Sophomore Luana Grau-Moura (Marlborough, MA) would finish in 14th on a 8.88m with first year Charlotte Collins (Weymouth, MA) wrapping up the group in 18th with an 8.51m. Stokes grabbed second place in the hammer with 40.19m with senior Arianna Constant (Leominster, MA) in fourth with a 35.86m placement. Sophomore Morgan Merrill (Leicester, MA) claimed fifth with a 34.22m with Collins in sixth with a 32.84m. Moreau and Grau-Moura would be tight to the finish with Moreau taking eight with 32.23m and Grau-Moura in ninth at 30.53m. Piccolo would claim 12th in the event at 28.97m. The discus would close out the throwing events on the day with Stokes taking home sixth with 30.46m, Merrill in ninth with a 27.78m and Collins in 10th with a 27.42m. Moreau claimed 12th with a 26.41m, again just edging out Grau-Moura at 13th with 26.13m. Piccolo would claim 17th with a 24.94m marking.
Breaking up the field events was the javelin that found Constant finish fourth with a 30.63m launch and junior Ava Vasquez (Methuen, MA) hit in the distance with a 29.55m for fifth. Crognalo-Torrez would take a single toss for 23.75m and seventh with Piccolo ending in 10th at 22.14m.
Adu-Addo set a new personal best again, this time in the 100m with a third place crossing at 12.90 with Strong again close at hand with a fifth place finish at 13.29. Strong would also claim fifth in the 200m with a time of 27.90 with fellow sophomore Meghan Driscoll (Mansfield, MA) taking eighth on a 29.25. Senior Carly Gilson (Grafton, MA) would nearly break under a minute in the 400m, taking fourth with a 60.69 while junior Bridget O'Malley (Leominster, MA) would match that finish in the 800m with a time of 2:32.68.
First year Samantha Edwards would tackle the 5K for Worcester, finishing in 11th in a time of 21:03.68 while Junior Kelsey Gendreau (Seekink, MA) would do the long haul early in the 10k for fourth at 46:52.83. Junior Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) would finish second in the 3000m steeplechase with a 12:57.93 while first year Cassandra Dirsa (Bolton, MA) would take home sixth with a 14:13.32.
In the relay contingent Adu-Addo, Bodwell, Strong and Gilson partnered up for the 4x100m early in the day to take home third in 50.23. In the final two events of the day Berg, Dirsa, junior Claudia Symonick (Auburn, MA) and junior Aubrey Tunnera (Marlborough, MA) woud finish fourth in 11:22.12 while the 4x400m squad of Bodwell, Gilson, O'Malley and sophomore Mia Guinto (West Boylston, MA) would take third in 4:25.73.
Worcester State is next in action starting May 2nd with the New England DIII Championships.
