Worcester State Women's Indoor Track Headlines
Westfield, MA — A total of 1,005 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Winter/Spring 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
On Monday, May 6th the Worcester State University Athletic Department held their annual 2023-24 Athletic Awards Ceremony on the campus of Worcester State in the newly renamed Gene J. & Julianne DeFeudis Wellness Center.
Coming off the 50th anniversary of Division III College Athletics and Title IX, Worcester State University’s Women’s Athletics programs have made tremendous strides to level the playing field for treatment, recognition, and resources for female athletes. The drive and ability to win is infectious across Lancer women’s athletics with teams and individuals consistently winning championships and making NCAA tournament appearances, all while succeeding in the classroom. Thanks to trailblazers worldwide who fight for equal treatment and the persistent dedication of players and coaches, female athletes are being promoted and recognized for their accomplishments more than ever. Karen Tessmer, associate athletic director and women’s basketball head coach, says that it is important to keep fighting for the recognition of women in sports, as it is easy for them to be overshadowed by male athletes.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field Team had two awarded USTFCCCA All-Region Team selections after stellar rookie seasons that saw them each set new school records in their respective event and qualify for participation at the New England DIII Regional Championships. First years Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) and Ciara Adu-Addo (Worcester, MA) were each selected after finishing in the top five in their region in their event.
Worcester, MA- After a strong performance at the New England DIII Regionals that saw two new school records set in the long jump and shot put, the Worcester State Indoor Track and Field team was awarded the Rookie and Field Athlete of the week honors for Ciara Ado-Addu (Worcester, MA).

Worcester, MA- For the sixth time this season, first year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) has been selected as the MASCAC Rookie of the week after dominating performances in the shot put and weight throw.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field competed in the final regular season meet at the Pre-Postseason Invitational hosted by Wheaton College. The meet is set as one of the final chances for individuals to hit qualifying marks for regional championships and the NCAA tournament.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field team continued their Rookie of the Week dominance this week, grabbing their sixth honor in six meets, as first year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) claimed her fifth MASCAC Rookie of the Week after claiming the top spot in the Weight Throw and Shot Put this past Saturday at the MASCAC Championships.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field team had a big showing today at Smith College for the MASCAC Championship. Led by first year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA), the Lancers grabbed numerous top finishes in the day as the youthful squad made their presence felt.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field Team kept their MASCAC Rookie of the Week streak alive for fifth straight competition week for the Lancers. This week sees first year Ciara Ado-Addu (Worcester, MA) grabbing the coveted honor from the conference.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Indoor Track and Field team hit the competition trail for the final time before the square up in the MASCAC Indoor Championships next weekend. Looking to grab some last chance final qualifying marks, the Lancers were set to compete. They would be highlighted by three first place finishes on the day as first years Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) and Ciara Adu-Add0 (Worcester, MA) would grab the top spot along with junior Caroline Gilson (Grafton, MA), to spread their success across the event. Worcester would record a total of 51 points at the meet.
