Clark Defeats Women's Tennis 7-2 as Women's Tennis Wraps up Season
Worcester, MA --- Clark University took five singles matches and a pair of doubles sets to defeat Worcester State 7-2 this afternoon at the Cougar tennis courts. Courteney Blais won at second singles while Danielle Lehman and Nicole Sellner won at third doubles for WSC.

Worcester, MA --- Clark University took five singles matches and a pair of doubles sets to defeat Worcester State 7-2 this afternoon at the Cougar tennis courts.
The Lancers were paced by junior Courteney Blais (Paxton, MA) who posted a victory at second singles with scores of 6-4 and 6-0 while Nicole Sellner (N. Attleboro, MA) and Danielle Lehman (Westminster, MA) teamed at third doubles to take home an 8-2 triumph.
Overall this season Lauren Cain (Framingham, MA) finished the season with the best singles at 6-5 as she went 5-4 at sixth doubles, while Blais, Sellner, Lehman and Albana Xhemollari (Worcester, MA/North) each notched four wins apiece.
Junior Ashley Perkins (Worcester, MA/Doherty) also added three wins as most of her matches were against top-flight competition at first singles. Her three wins came in the last five matches of the season.
In doubles play, the two teams of Perkins and Blais and Lehman and Sellner posted equal marks at 5-5 in first and third doubles, respectively. Shaw and Xhemollari also added four wins at second doubles.
The Lancers wrap up the 2009 campaign at 4-9, with one more win than lin 2008 while Clark finishes at 3-11.
