Forbes and Gumienny Claim MASCAC Weekly Honors

Worcester, MA- After holding for a crucial win over Salem State this past weekend, the Worcester State Women's Soccer team has regained control of their own fate and claimed two MASCAC Player of the Week honors. Juniors Jessica Forbes (Clinton, MA) and Ella Gumienny (Doulas, MA) took home the honors for the Lancers. Forbes claimed Offensive Player of the Week while Gumienny took home her second Defensive Player of the Week.

Forbes recorded the game-winning goal in the Lancers' 2-1 win over Salem State to remain atop the MASCAC standings while Gumienny recorded 22 saves in a 1-1 week for the Lancers with a 1.50 GAA and a .880 save percentage. Made nine saves in the 2-1 win over Salem State. Added 13 more in the 2-0 setback to Eastern Conn. State.

Worcester State is back in action next Saturday when they play UMass-Darmtouh at 10am for this year's senior game.
