Czerniawski and Franta Named MASCAC Players of the Week
Worcester, MA- After claiming their first MASCAC Championship, and fourth Championship in the last five season, the Worcester State Women's Ice Hockey team had two selected as MASCAC players of the week. Senior Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA) and junior Madelyn Franta (Superior, WI) took home the honors in Goalie and Player of the Week.
Worcester, MA- After claiming their first MASCAC Championship, and fourth Championship in the last five season, the Worcester State Women's Ice Hockey team had two selected as MASCAC players of the week. Senior Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA) and junior Madelyn Franta (Superior, WI) took home the honors in Goalie and Player of the Week.
Czerniawski made 29 stops with a .935 save percentage to earn Tournament MVP honors in the Lancers' 3-2 Championship Game victory over Rivier. Czerniawski closed out the season with a 1.33 GAA, 575 saves and a .957% save percentage, which was good for third in NCAA DIII.
Franta netted the game-winner and assisted on another in the Lancers' 3-2 MASCAC Championship game win over Rivier. Franta wrapped up the season with four goals, five assista and 9 points. Thee of the four goals were game winner with the last an empty netter.
Worcester State was crowned the 2026 MASCAC Women's Ice Hockey Champions last Friday, March 6th.
