Johns and Czerniawski Claim Final Regular Season MASCAC Player of the Week Honors
Worcester, MA- After going 2-0 on the week and claiming the MASCAC Regular Season Title the Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey claimed two weekly honors with senior Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA) seventh Goalie of the Week and sophomore Emily Johns (Clinton, MA) taking home Player of the Week.
Worcester, MA- After going 2-0 on the week and claiming the MASCAC Regular Season Title the Worcester State Women's Ice Hockey claimed two weekly honors with senior Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA) seventh Goalie of the Week and sophomore Emily Johns (Clinton, MA) taking home Player of the Week.
Johns recorded a goal and an assist in a comeback thriller 3-2 win over Rivier on Saturday night in a 2-0 week for the Lancers. Johns has recorded 11 goals and three assist for 14 points in the season.
Czerniawski finished with 66 saves, 1.00 GAA and .971 save percentage in a 2-0 week for the Lancers that saw the team clinch the MASCAC Regular Season title. Stopped 32 shots with a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Salem State. Added 34 saves with a .944 save percentage in the 3-2 win over Rivier. Czerniawski has recorded 526 saves with a .947 save percentage and a 1.37 GAA on the season.
Worcester State is back in action on Friday at 7:20pm when they host the winner of the Framingham vs Anna Maria Ice Hockey game on Wednesday.
