Final
Worcester State: 6
Anna Maria: 1
How it Happened:
It would be a slow but steady start for the Lancers as they took on conference rival Anna Maria on home ice tonight. It would take just over 10 minutes into the first period for Worcester to begin to find their offensive success as junior Kelly Lovett (Peabody, MA) would collect a rebound off the AMCATs keeper for the first scoring action. Worcester would be quiet for the rest of the half but really turned on the engine in the second period, scoring goal number two just under three minutes as first year Lindsay Wagner (Waterbury, VT) would get in on the action. Half way through the second junior Fiona Hatton (Homer, AK) would find her chance with goal three off a slick pass from junior Kaia Carlson (Denver, CO). It would feel like moments later that Worcester would tuck in for the 4-0 lead off a sophomore Leyla Tiernan (Anchorage, AK) placement from sophomore Avery Ireland (Longmeadow, MA) and Lovett. Anna Maria would not go quietly into the night though, recording their first goal of the game with under a minute to go in the period.
Worcester would tap in two more goals, one an Emily to Emily with senior Emily Long (Pembroke, MA) assisting sophomore Emily Johns (CLinton, MA) and a final in the last few seconds from first year Princess Delano (Mountainside, NJ) from Hatton and junior Madelyn Franta (Superior, WA).
Senior Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA) would close out the night with 21 saves.
What's Next:
The Lancers (3-2-0-,2-0-0) will not have to go far for their next game as they remain at home for a Saturday night meeting with Rivier at 7:20pm.
