Layna was born in Chicago, Ill...is majoring in business administration at Worcester State with a concentration in marketing and a minor in communication...the daughter of Laurie and Gilbert Pereiro...has one younger sister, Maille... favorite spot on campus: the DeFeudis Fitness Center... chose Worcester State for the women's ice hockey program and its location

Layna is a 2020 graduate of Lane Technical College Prep High School in Chicago, Ill...played four years of varsity ice hockey and one year of varsity softball for the Indians...won the Chicago city championship in softball in 2017...played junior hockey for Team Illinois...transferred to Worcester State after one year at SUNY Morrisville
