It’s almost here: summer and the return of Worcester State University Girls Basketball Camp! We will follow all MA state and institutional guidelines and protocols for continued covid health and safety in order to run a top quality, fun and safe camp experience. Our coaching staff and players are committed to providing campers with personal attention to improve fundamentals and teamwork during game situations. From beginner players to those at higher levels, every camper leaves with improved skills, enthusiasm and motivation for basketball. We help kids become better basketball players, while mixing in plenty of fun activities. We hope to see you and your friends at camp!
WESTFIELD, Mass. – 37 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Winter Sportsmanship Team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women’s basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2025. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure. NORTHAMPTON, MA - The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) has announced the 2024-25 NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic participants. The game will be played at Smith College on Sunday, March 30 at 1:00. Spectators are welcome to attend and the game will be live streamed on the NEWMAC Sports Network.
Westfield, Mass. — Bridgewater State’s Kylie Grassi was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year for the third time while her teammate Kylee Piche and Salem State’s Goncalves were tabbed as Co-Defensive Player of the Year and head up the 2024-25 All-Conference team, which is voted on by the coaches around the conference.
Worcester, MA- With nearly a week off since their last game, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (9-15, 3-7) is well rested and energized to return to competition as they head to the #4 seeded Westfield State for the first round of the MASCAC Women’s Basketball Tournament. Worcester State was last in action last Wednesday where they claimed the win over Framingham State, and hoped to carry that winning energy into their third meeting with Westfield State on the season.
Worcester, MA- In the final game of the regular season, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (8-15, 2-7) will head to Framingham State to take on the Rams with final postseason seeding on the line.
Worcester, MA- Closing out their second to last conference match of the season, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (8-14, 2-6) will journey to Salem State to begin to solidify their final post season standings, which is currently looking like it may be a return trip to the Vikings in a week in half.
Worcester, MA- Looking to figure out their final season for the conference tournament, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (8-13, 2-5) is primed to take on Bridgewater State (14-6, 6-1) in a grudge match on their home court this evening. Tonight’s game is also in partnership with the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund, created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, which aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late stage cancer and increase longevity.
Worcester, MA- After getting back into the win column this past Wednesday, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (8-12, 2-4) is back on their home court this afternoon to host the Westfield State Owls (12-8, 3-3). In their last meeting this season, the game went down to the wire with the Owls squeezing out the 77-64, with Worcester set to flip the outcome this time around.
Worcester, MA- After over a week away from game action, the Worcester State Women’s Basketball team (7-12, 1-4) is looking to get back to winning ways as they head to Fitchburg to take on the Falcons. In their first meeting of the season, on the Lancers home court, Worcester pulled away with a 72-53 victory and are primed for a repeat performance tonight.
Westfield, MA — A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
