Herring Named MASCAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year
Britt Herring of Worcester State has been named the 2015-16 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Year.
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Britt Herring of Worcester State has been named the 2015-16 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Year.
The freshman from W. Brookfield, Mass. helped her team to four conference victories and the sixth seed in the tournament. In her first year with the Lancers, Herring had the fifth most points in the league (13) and rebounds (8.8) while also tallying the third most blocks (55) and fourth most total rebounds (219). She was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week four times during the regular season.
Joining MASCAC Player of the Year, Jill Valley on the First Team All-Conference are Bridgewater State's Jennie Lindland, Framingham State's Raegan Mulherin and Alycia Rackliffe and Westfield State's Forbasaw Nkamebo.
Landing a spot on the Second Team All-Conference with Herring are Bridgewater State's Chanelle Melton, Framingham State's Montá Connolly, MCLA's Kayla Hotaling and Salem State's Kaitlyn Bryan.
