How it Happened:
While it would be a quiet start for both teams in the opening inning, with the Lancers led by first year Taylor Stuart (Sterling, MA) the Owls would work their way onto the board in the bottom of the second with a single run cushion in the action.
The Owls would extend the lead to three before the Lancers responded with a run of their own in the top of the fourth with a home run from senior Emma LaPoint (Westfield, MA) to put the Lancers on the board and claim her 96th RBI as she worked her way to 100.
Westfield would go back in the attack in the bottom of the fourth, recording three further runs before junior Peyton Maloney (West Boylston, MA) came in to help close out the inning.
The fifth would add two additional runs to claim the 9-1 victory and push Worcester to a meeting with the winner of MCLA vs Bridgewater.

How it Happened:
It started as a quiet game two in the first inning but exploded in the second as the Trailblazers recorded a run before Worcester went into offense mode with six runs. Junior Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) singled up the middle for two RBIs in the scoring of seniors Camden Heenan (Webster, MA) and Carisa Andrews (Medford, MA). Senior Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA) singled to the right to bring in senior Bailey (Fitchburg, MA). LaPoint would record her 97th RBI with a dinger down the left to bring in Adamuska. Senior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) would single to send in LaPoint while first year Zoie Stevens (Claremont, NH) would send a sacrifice to bring across Gasbarro to end the second inning six run action.
Worcester would go for five in the bottom of the third as a Tammaro double sent home Andrews, an Adamuska single would knock in Tammaro with a wild pitch sending in Brouillard. LaPoint would record RBI 98 with a grounder that would score Adamuska. Stevens would again wrap up the innings scoring, with a double to send in Keefe.
The fourth had Worcester tacking on some additional cushion with Brouillard singling to send inTammaro and Adamuska working to get Brouillard across for the 13-1 score.
Maloney would go for the complete game victory, recording three strikeouts in the outing.
What's Next:
With the win, SOftball advances to a meeting with Westfield State for the MASCAC Championship on Sunday at 12pm with a second game to follow if necessary.
