Westfield, MA — A total of 1,005 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Winter/Spring 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Athletics Department has five named to this years Spring MASCAC Sportsmanship teams. Selected were Baseball's Mason Bates, Lacrosse's Hannah Leahy, Track and Field's Giovanni Casiano and Eryca Lopes and Softball's Sarah Gosselin. 34 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Spring Sportsmanship Teams.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 376 student-athletes from 167 schools who comprise the 2024 NFCA Division III All-Region teams.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team came away with two major honors and six named to this years MASCAC All- Conference Teams. Leading this year’s awards was junior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA) and senior Emily Bartlett (Lowell, MA) who claimed Player and Pitcher of the Year in the conference.
Worcester, MA- After what amounted to two complete softball games for Worcester State (26-15, 11-3) yesterday in their battle with the Rams, they took their few hours of rest to shift focus for the MASCAC Quarterfinal elimination round game versus the Salem State Vikings (14-25, 7-7) at Westfield State where the winner would advance to the MASCAC Semifinal matchup between Westfield and Framingham.
Worcester, MA- After an exciting back and forth battle with Salem State, Worcester State (27-15, 11-3) would come away with the win and set themselves up with a rematch versus Framingham State (21-18, 11-3). The Rams came away yesterday with the victory in the 13 inning battle but Worcester would look to come away with their first win against the Rams on the season to move onto the Championship.
Worcester, MA- After a decisive victory yesterday over Fitchburg State, the Worcester State Softball team (26-14,11-3) headed to Framingham State (20-17,11-3) to open up the double elimination MASCAC Quarterfinals.
Worcester, MA- The third-seeded Worcester State Lancers (25-14, 11-3) hosted sixth-seeded Fitchburg State Falcons (11-25, 5-9) for the first round of the MASCAC tournament. Due to weather and field conditions, the game previously scheduled for 4 PM yesterday was moved to today with a 4 PM start.
Worcester, MA- For the first time this season, junior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC Player of the Week.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team (23-14, 9-3) makes their final trip of the regular season today as they journey to Mass. Maritime Academy to face off with the Buccaneers (11-15, 2-10) in two games with major playoff picture implications. Worcester State is currently still in contention for the top spot in the conference and two wins today will help bolster their chances.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team (22-13, 9-3) take a mid week break from conference play to journey to Wellesley College to take on the Blues (14-20, 6-12).
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team has claimed another repeat MASCAC weekly honor as senior Emily Bartlett (Lowell, MA) was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team (20-13, 7-3) returned to action today in their second to last conference slate of games, this time taking on the Salem State Vikings (10-22, 5-5) in what could be a pivotal postseason deciding series. Salem has managed to claim a back from Framingham State, who earlier this season claimed two on Worcester State, so the Lancers look to solidify their postseason seeding with decisive victories over the Vikings.
Worcester, MA- After two quick wins yesterday on a blustery day, the Worcester State Softball team (19-12, 7-3) returned to the home diamond to host Rhode Island College (25-5, 8-2) in a rescheduled weather move from earlier this month. The Anchormen come into the game regionally ranked but also having dropped the last two games before coming into this matchup with the Lancers.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team (17-12, 7-3) would return to action after a dominant sweep of Bridgewater State on Sunday, to take on the Lasell Lasers (19-14, 11-3) in a midweek non conference battle. Today’s game was also being played in support of the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late-stage cancer and increase longevity.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team kept the MASCAC Honors streak going this week as they again were recognized for their strength of play this week. Senior Emily Bartlett (Lowell, MA) was picked for the 4th time as MASCAC Pitcher of the Week, while first year Peyton Maloney (West Boylston, MA) received her first MASCAC honor of the season, being named Rookie of the Week.
