Boudreau Leads Lancers to Third at MASCAC Championship
Worcester, MA. — The Worcester State University men's track & field team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 MASCAC Outdoor Championship, hosted by Fitchburg State University, finishing 3rd overall with 106 points. The Lancers showcased depth across sprints, hurdles, distance, and field events, highlighted by an individual championship and a new Division III national ranking in the 100 meters.
Worcester, MA. — The Worcester State University men's track & field team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 MASCAC Outdoor Championship, hosted by Fitchburg State University, finishing 3rd overall with 106 points. The Lancers showcased depth across sprints, hurdles, distance, and field events, highlighted by an individual championship and a new Division III national ranking in the 100 meters.
The day's biggest individual story came on the track, where Senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) put together a dominant performance in the 100 meters. Boudreau won his qualifying heat in 10.81 seconds before returning in the final to claim 1st place with a time of 10.71, a new personal best that also ranks 74th in Division III. Boudreau added a 3rd place finish in the 200 meters (22.29 PB) and anchored the 2nd place 4x100m relay alongside Junior Tyshawn Craigg (Springfield, MA), first year Jarrett Brown (Milford, MA), and first year Sandro Merone (Weymouth, MA).
First year Dominique Billups (Pittsfield, MA) was one of the meet's most versatile performers, competing in four events and recording personal bests in each. Billups finished 4th in the 110m Hurdles (16.95 PB), 2nd in the 400m Hurdles (59.52 PB), and contributed to the 2nd place 4x400m relay (3:26.86) alongside first year Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA), Junior Keenan Ansah, and first year Taylor Feliciano (Milford, MA).
Junior Keenan Ansah had a strong multi-event showing, earning 3rd in the 400 meters (50.60) and a 6th place finish in the long jump (6.38m). first year Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA) contributed a 6th place finish in the 400m with a personal best of 51.73, while Sophomore Cole Berriault (Wareham, MA) and first year Taylor Feliciano (Milford, MA) also posted personal bests in 52.25 and 52.66, respectively.
In the 3000m Steeplechase, first year Ryan Wing (Barre, MA) secured a 2nd place finish with a time of 10:19.33, with Junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) not far behind in 3rd at 10:54.29. Wing also placed 5th in the 400m Hurdles (60.75 PB) and contributed a 5th place finish in the high jump (1.65m), highlighting his versatility across the meet.
Worcester State's relay squads were competitive throughout the day. The 4x800m relay team of first year Andrew Feinblatt (Framingham, MA), Graduate Student Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA), Junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA), and Sophomore Taku Pettengill (Shirley, MA) finished 2nd with a time of 8:27.61.
In the field, first year Jose Calle (Plainfield, CT) posted a 2nd place finish in the pole vault (3.55m), and Senior Kelvin Paulino-Acosta (Sutton, MA) took 3rd in the triple jump (13.16m). Junior Andrew Lucier (Gardner, MA) was consistent in the throws, placing 5th in the hammer (42.00m) and 5th in the javelin (47.13m). Junior Garrett Papierski (Webster, MA) also delivered solid performances, finishing 7th in the shot put (13.06m), 6th in the discus (36.78m), and 8th in the hammer (36.59m).
In the distance events, first year Liam Dietz (Longmeadow, MA) competed in both the 5000m (6th, 17:18.12) and the 10000m (4th, 35:06.73), while Graduate Student Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) placed 6th in the 1500m (4:16.11).
The Lancers' 3rd place team finish reflects a well-rounded effort from a deep roster competing at the MASCAC championship level. Worcester State continues to build momentum as the outdoor track & field season progresses.
