Lancers Turn In Strong Showing at Bonnie Edmondson Classic
Worcester, MA. — The Worcester State University men's outdoor track and field team made the trip down to Eastern Connecticut State University on Friday for the Bonnie Edmondson Classic, delivering a competitive and encouraging performance across all disciplines heading into the MASCAC Championships.

The day's top individual performance belonged to junior Garrett Papierski (Webster, MA), who claimed first place in the shot put with a winning mark of 13.24 meters, giving the Lancers a gold medal effort in the throws to set the tone for the afternoon. Papierski was active throughout the throws rotation, also competing in the hammer where he posted a 40.16m mark for 15th place.
Senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) was Worcester State's standout on the track, finishing second in the 200 meters in a sharp time of 22.58 seconds. Boudreau carried his speed into the field as well, landing 8th in the long jump with a mark of 6.19 meters. Junior Keenan Ansah had an impressive multi-event day, finishing 2nd in the 400 meters in a strong time of 50.11 seconds before adding a 3rd place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.36 meters, demonstrating his versatility as one of the team's most dynamic contributors.
The Lancers showed considerable depth in the sprints and middle distances. Junior Tyshawn Craigg (Springfield, MA) turned in a 6th place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 23.03 seconds, while junior James Almeida (Auburn, MA) led the team in the 100 meters with a 10th place finish at 11.47 seconds. In the 400 meters, first-year Taylor Feliciano (Milford, MA) posted a 12th place finish with a time of 52.67, and first-year Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA) was close behind in 14th at 52.95.
The distance corps put together a solid effort as well. First-year Andrew Feinblatt (Framingham, MA) had a standout performance in the 800 meters, crossing in 6th place with a time of 2:01.72, while graduate student Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) followed in 8th at 2:04.14. In the 1500 meters, sophomore Daniel Smith (Medway, MA) led the Lancers with a 12th place finish at 4:37.37, with first-year Liam Dietz (Longmeadow, MA) right behind in 10th at 4:30.65.
The hurdles crew also made their presence felt. First-year Ryan Wing (Barre, MA) led Worcester State in the 400 meter hurdles with a 10th place finish at 61.09 seconds, edging out first-year Dominique Billups (Pittsfield, MA) in 11th at 61.49 and junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) in 12th at 62.28. Billups also competed in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing 8th at 17.24 seconds.
The relay teams added valuable points to the scoreboard. The 4x100 meter squad, composed of Boudreau, first-year Jarrett Brown (Milford, MA), Craigg, Feliciano, first-year Sandro Merone (Weymouth, MA), and first-year Matteo Oliveri Kuhnle (Bedford, MA), crossed in third place with a time of 42.86 seconds. The 4x400 meter relay team of Feinblatt, Mahoney, Wing, and Lucier matched that result with a third place finish in 3:39.74.
In the jumps, senior Kelvin Paulino-Acosta (Sutton, MA) contributed a 12th place finish in the long jump at 6.07 meters, and sophomore CJ Harrell (Holland, MA) recorded a 9th place finish in the triple jump at 11.19 meters. First-year Jose Calle (Plainfield, CT) posted an 8th place mark of 3.40 meters in the pole vault.
The throws group rounded out a productive day. Junior Kodie LeGrand (Tewksbury, MA) posted a 16th place finish in the hammer at 38.05 meters, with Lucier placing 22nd at 32.95 meters. Sophomore Gavin Delgado (Douglas, MA) contributed a 12th place finish in the shot put at 11.69 meters.
The Lancers now turn their attention to the MASCAC Championships, hosted by Fitchburg State on April 25th, with the confidence of a full competitive tune-up under their belts.
