Worcester State Kicks off Season Strong at Suffolk Relays
Worcester, MA- The Lancers built momentum early in the indoor season with a strong, well-rounded showing at the Suffolk Relays inside the historic Reggie Lewis Center. Worcester State athletes delivered standout performances on the track and in the field, highlighted by top-five finishes, major personal bests, and strong depth throughout the roster.

Senior Seth Boudreau (Douglas, MA) was one of the headliners of the day, blazing to a 7.17 in the 60m prelims before storming to a 4th-place finish in the final in 7.01, one of the top Lancer sprint performances of the day.
In the 400m, Keenan Ansah continued to prove why he's one of the most dangerous quarter-milers in the region, racing to a 3rd-place finish in 51.73. First-year Kendrick Adusei (Worcester, MA) added an impressive early-season performance of his own, placing 19th in 55.05, while several Lancers packed in strong times behind him.
The 200m group showed excellent depth, with seven Lancers competing. Junior Tyshawn Craigg (Springfield, MA) led the way with a 9th-place finish in 23.63, and first-year Taylor Feliciano (Milford, MA) was not far behind at 23.89.
First-year Youness Chahid (Revere, MA) showed poise in the 800m, earning a top-10 finish with a time of 2:05.68.
Junior Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) put together a strong run in the 1,000m, securing 7th in 2:48.60, continuing his reliable presence in the mid-distance group.
The mile saw a breakout performance from first-year Andrew Feinblatt (Framingham, MA), who delivered a fantastic 7th-place finish (4:52.04) to lead a competitive pack of Lancers.
Worcester State dominated in the 3,000m, placing four runners inside the top eleven. First-year standout Liam Dietz (Longmeadow, MA) led the way with a stellar 5th-place finish in 9:44.58, followed closely by graduate student Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) in 8th (9:58.36) and first-year Ryan Wing (Barre, MA) in 9th (10:07.08). Senior Alex Matsuyasu (Newton, MA) rounded out the group in 11th.
The Lancers saw major success in the field events, highlighted by Boudreau's extraordinary day, not just on the track, but also in the long jump, where he soared to 3rd place at 6.84m. Ansah added to the jumps success with a 6th-place leap of 6.59m, giving Worcester two athletes in the top six. In the high jump, sophomore CJ Harrell (Holland, MA) placed 5th, clearing 1.70m.
First-year Jarrett Brown (Milford, MA) continued to impress in the triple jump with a strong 4th-place finish at 12.04m, while sophomore Tommy Silva (Stoughton, MA) added an 8th-place performance.
The throws crew enjoyed one of its strongest collective showings of the season. Junior Garrett Papierski (Webster, MA) led the charge with a 2nd-place shot put mark of 13.12m and added a 3rd-place finish in the weight throw (13.58m), showcasing elite consistency. Sophomore Gavin Delgado (Douglas, MA) delivered a big outing in the shot put, placing 6th (12.06m), while juniors Andrew Lucier (Gardner, MA) and Kodie LeGrand (Tewksbury, MA) followed close behind in 8th and 9th, respectively.
LeGrand also excelled in the weight throw, securing 15th (11.24m), while sophomore Hunter Cormier (Westminster, MA) and Lucier added key depth for the Lancers.
The Lancers are off until 2026 when they return to Suffolk University for the Suffolk Ice Breaker Challenge on January 18th.
