Gibson Finishes Second In 110 Meter Hurdles At Division III Championships
Canton, NY –- Senior Terrence Gibson placed second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.89 on the final day of the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships hosted by St. Lawrence. Gibson scorched the track with the seventh-fastest split in event history.

With eight team points, the Lancers tied for 33rd in the final NCAA Division III Championship standings out of 82 scoring teams and 140 men's institutions in attendance.
In the finals of 110 meter hurdles, Gibson was the runner-up to two-time defending National Champion, junior Luke Campbell (Brunswick, MD) of Salisbury, who shattered the NCAA Championship record of 13.79 by Justin Johnson of St Norbert set in 2012.
With his outstanding split this afternoon, Gibson eclipsed his own program standard set last week at the ECAC Division III Championships (14.09) as his time today is the seventh-fastest in 110 meter event history. After returning from injuries and competing for the first time this outdoor campaign on April 18, Gibson had been victorious in five consecutive 110 meter hurdle races.
Gibson, who clocked the fastest mark in the trials yesterday (14.17), earned his second 110 meter hurdle All-American honor and the fourth of his career. Gibson took home fourth in the event as a sophomore in 2013.
The second place finish for Gibson also marks the eighth occasion that a Worcester State men's student-athlete has finished as a runner-up at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
Junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, MA) of Bridgewater State, the only other competitor out of 20 entrants from New England in the 110 meter hurdles, placed seventh with a time of 14.17.
