Men's Indoor Track Places Fifth At Tufts Stampede Invitational
Medford, MA --- Freshman Terrence Gibson had a stellar day in his first collegiate meet as he helped pace the men's indoor track and field team to fifth place at the Tufts Stampede Invitational.

The hosting Jumbos won the meet with 125 points followed by UMass Dartmouth (87.5), WPI (68) as Bridgewater State (53) edged out the Lancers (49.5) for fourth overall.
Gibson impessed with second in the trials of the 60 meter hurdles to qualify for the Open New England Championships (9.57) before he ran a Division III New England standard for third in the 200 meters (23.06) and placed fourth in the long jump (6.40m/21-00).
The 4x200 meter relay team of junior Jon Parrella (Willmington, MA), sophomores Ramses Rafael (Lawrence, MA) and Kevin Maciel (Tewksbury, MA) along with freshman Stephen Gannon (Mansfield, MA) timed first with a time of 3:28.73.
Freshman Duy Truong (Worcester, MA/Doherty) finished fourth in the 60 (7.17), sixth in the triple jump (12.91m/42-04.25) and 10th in the 60 meter hurdles (8.91) as junior Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) added seventh in the 1,000 (2:38.27) and classmate Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) was ninth in the 600 (1:26.10).
In the field, sophomore Andrew Johnson (Thompson, CT) leaped 1.86 meters (6-1) for fifth, junior Sebastian Bilenschuck (Mansfield, MA) had a toss of sixth in the weight throw (15.21m/49-11) and third-year Andrew Garcia (Brea, CA) cleared eighth in the pole vault (3.70m/12-01.50).
Today's meet was a tune-up for the MASCAC/Alliance Championships next week hosted by Southern Maine.
