Final
Worcester State: 1
Salem State: 2
How it Happened:
The Lancers got off to a great start in this game from a well-placed shot from junior midfielder Xavi Alavarado (Cuenca, EC) that found the back of the net, assisted by junior forward Mohamad-Kadar Yussuf (Worcester, MA) to get the scoring started for the day. The first half would be pretty back and forth between the two teams, but there would be no additional goals scored in the half, giving the Lancers a 1-0 lead going into the second half.
The second half started with the Vikings finding a volley off a throw-in from well outside the penalty box to even the score. Salem was able to maintain their momentum and get another goal with under 10 minutes to go in the game, giving them a late lead. The Lancers were unable to get a last chance goal to tie up the game, even as they threw all their force into the attack, and would fall to the Vikings in this conference game.
Junior Tobias Schneider (Hudson, WI) would end the game with 10 saves over the course of action.
What's Next:
The Lancers (5-8, 3-4) are back on the pitch for non-conference action next Tuesday when they host Sage for their annual Rosen Cancer Awareness Pink Out Game.
