Final
Worcester State: 0
Mass. Maritime: 2
How it Happened:
Lancers started off the first half quick on offense with an early shot by senior Taylor Gavaletz (Dudley, MA). There was a solid defensive showing by the Lancers but unfortunately Mass. Maritime would find the back of the net for a 1-0 lead half way through the first. The physicality of this half would continue with a total of 16 fouls between the two teams. The one goal would not slow the Lancers down with Gavaletz again putting a shot towards the cage, but this one would say just high as Worcester would look for the equalizer. At the end of the half, the Lancers were still on the look out to take the lead.
Gavaletz came out strong again for the Lancers with a quick shot that just missed wide right. Mass Maritime capitalized on that and scored their second goal of the game to expand the score and the pressure on the Lancers. Worcester would go into a high intensity attack mode with shots from junior Tim Garcia (Catania, IT) leading the charge but the Buccaneers held strong against the onslaught. Junior goalkeeper Tobias Schneider (Hudson, WI) and the Lancer defense would continue to hold off the Buccaneers and limit any further damage but Mass. Maritime would hold strong on the Lancer attack to claim the 2-0 win over Worcester.
Schneider would finish the game with five saves while SJ Aquino (Mons, Belgium) would have two shots on cage.
What's Next:
