Golf Opens Season at NEC
The Worcester State men’s golf team opened its fall season at the NEC Invitational, hosted at the Country Club of New Hampshire, finishing fifth overall with a team score of 349 (+61).
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State men's golf team opened its fall season at the NEC Invitational, hosted at the Country Club of New Hampshire, finishing fifth overall with a team score of 349 (+61).
The Lancers were led by junior Jon Gastonguay (78, +6), who tied for 7th place in the 27-golfer field, securing a top-10 finish. Senior Zack Hurley turned in a steady round of 83 (+11), tying for 18th place.
Rounding out Worcester's scoring were senior Cameron Verna (Natick, MA) and Sean Tyrie, who each carded a 94 (+22), and Nolan Finan, who finished with a 101 (+29).
Salem State captured the team title with a 311 (+23), while Southern Maine (314, +26) and New England College (315, +27) rounded out the top three.
The Lancers look to build on Gastonguay's strong finish as they prepare for their next tournament that finds them in Uxbridge for the MASCAC Tourament on Spetmber 20th.
