Men's Golf Settles For 15th At UMD Hampton Inn Invitational
N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Joe Belanger shaved four strokes off his total from the first day to tie for 13th overall as he helped lead the Worcester State men's golf team to 15th Place at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational at the Par 72 Allendale Country Club.
N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Joe Belanger (Holden, MA) shaved four strokes off his total from the first day to tie for 13th overall (162; +18) as he helped lead the Worcester State men's golf team to 15th Place at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational at the Par 72 Allendale Country Club.
The Lancers as a team improved their total by two strokes as they tallied 698 (+122) as a team, 69 strokes off of team champion Husson (629; +53).
Chris McCarthy equalled 65th with a two-day score of 178 (+35) while senior Tim D'Orazio (Jamison, PA) and Dane Goolsky were one stroke behind in a tie for 69th (179; +36). Fourth-year Jim Sarkisian (Auburn, MA) tied for 80th by cutting down his second day card by eight to for a total of 196 (+52).
The Blue and Gold will compete again on Tuesday when they host the Worcester State Invitational/MASCAC Championships at Blackstone National.
