Men's Golf Places 15th After First Day At UMD Hampton Inn Invitational

N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Joe Belanger (Holden, MA) tied for 22nd place with a first-round score of 83 (+11) to help lead the Worcester State men's golf team to 15th place on the opening day of the UMD Hampton Inn Invitational at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.

With a a team score of 350, the Lancers are 40 strokes off from Husson, who leads with a team score of 310.

Dane Goolsky and Chris McCarthy tied for 55th with a card of 88 (+16) while senior Tim D'Orazio (Jamison, PA) equalled 70th (91; +19) and classmate Jim Sarkisian (Auburn, MA) finished in 84th overall (102; +30).

The Blue and Gold will wrap up the competition on the second day at Allendale tomorrow afternoon.
