Okla Claims Ninth MASCAC Rookie of the Week; Adds Player of the Week Honors
Worcester, MA- For the third time in four years the Worcester State Men's Basketball team was crowned the MASCAC Champions, and for the ninth time this season sophomore Joe Okla (Worcester, MA) was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week. This weeks selection also added the Player of the Week honors for the MASCAC Championship MVP.
Worcester, MA- For the third time in four years the Worcester State Men's Basketball team was crowned the MASCAC Champions, and for the ninth time this season sophomore Joe Okla (Worcester, MA) was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week. This weeks selection also added the Player of the Week honors for the MASCAC Championship MVP.
Okla named Tournament MVP after averaged 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, two steals, 1.5 assists and shooting 50 percent (8-16) from the field in the Lancers MASCAC Tournament run. Scored 15 points with nine rebounds, two steals, two assists and a block in the 73-71 championship game win over Westfield State. Okla as recorded 403 points on the season thus far with 242 rebounds, 48 assists, 42 steals and four blocks.
Worcester State is back on the court on Friday when they head to Mary Washington to take Eagles in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
