Babson Park, MA --- Men's Basketball forward Maurice Horton has been named to the home team of the Division III New England Coaches Basketball Assocation Senior All-Star game to be played on Sunday, April 18 at Babson College's Staake Gymnasium. The match will be a fundraiser for the organization's Coaches versus Cancer campaign.
Cape Cod, MA --- Senior forward Maurice Horton has been named to the All-ECAC New England third-team as announced by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference communications office this past week. Horton was one of two from the MASCAC who was honored on the team.
Bridgewater, MA --- #4 Worcester State was defeated by top-seeded Bridgewater State this evening, 73-59, in the semifinal round of the MASCAC men's basketball tournament. Freshman Tim Henault and senior Maurice Horton combined for 20 points in the setback.
Buzzards Bay, MA --- Senior forward Maurice Horton has been named to the 2009-10 Men’s Basketball All-Conference first team as announced by league publicist Jim Seavey after a vote by the leagues coaches earlier this week. For Horton’s this is his second-straight first team selection after he earned the same accolades last season.
Worcester, MA --- Senior Maurice Horton netted 26 points with seven rebounds to help #4 Worcester State defeat fifth-seeded Fitchburg State 72-64 this evening in the quarterfinal round of the MASCAC Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Lancer Gymnasium.
Worcester, MA --- Senior Maurice Horton notched a game-best 31 points with eight rebounds and five assists to help lead Worcester State to a 90-85 overtime triumph over Salem State this evening in MASCAC men’s basketball action. The win snapped a 22-game winless streak to the Vikings as the last win for the Lancers came on January 21, 2001.
Bridgewater, MA --- Despite a game-best 27 points and 10 rebounds by senior Maurice Horton, the Bears handed Worcester State a 74-70 setback this evening to remain undefeated in MASCAC play. Freshman Tim Henault also poured in 14 points in the loss.
Worcester, MA --- Junior Ryan Testagrossa netted a career high 21 points with six assists and four rebounds to help lead Worcester State to a 79-78 overtime victory over Fitchburg State this evening in MASCAC men’s basketball action. The Lancers rallied from a seven point deficit at the half and a they erased a five-point shortfall in the extra session to post the victory.
Worcester, MA --- Despite a double-double effort from senior Maurice Horton, Framingham State would defeat Worcester State 70-64 this evening in MASCAC action. Horton would eclipse the 1,000 point milestone this evening for WSC.
Westfield, MA --- Worcester State was defeated this evening in MASCAC action by Westfield State, 66-56. Freshman Tim Henault led all WSC scorers as he tied his career high with 16 points.
Worcester, MA --- MCLA defeated Worcester State this evening 59-55 in MASCAC men's basketball action. Senior Maurice Horton led the Lancers with 23 points and 7 rebounds in the setback.
Worcester, MA --- Junior Dave Douillette tallied his only basket of the contest as he nailed the game-winning shot with 1.7 seconds left to give Worcester State the 76-74 overtime triumph over Wheaton College in non-conference men’s basketball action this evening at the Lancer Gymnasium.
Salem, MA --- Worcester State lost this evening to Salem State in MASCAC men's basketball 81-69 in MASCAC action this evening. The Lancers freshman Monte Goodwin and sophomore Raheem Lewis provided a spark off the bench as they combined for 25 points.
Worcester, MA --- Bridgewater State defeated Worcester State 69-59 this evening to remain unbeaten in MASCAC action. Freshman Tim Henault paced the Lancers with a career-best 16 points.
Fitchburg, MA --- Junior Ryan Testagrossa led three players in double figure scoring with 16 points as he helped lead Worcester State to a 58-57 victory this evening over Fitchburg State in MASCAC Men's Basketball action.
Buzzards Bay, MA --- For the third time this season and the second straight week, Maurice Horton has been selected MASCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his stellar contributions as the Lancers posted a 2-1 week.
