Field Hockey Announces 2026 Schedule
Worcester, MA- Fourth year Head Coach Sophia Monopoli and the Worcester State University Athletics Department are excited to announce the release of the 2026 Field Hockey Schedule. The Lancers finished last season 9-12, 7-5 in conference, ultimately falling in the MASCAC Championship, and are looking to reclaim the title they parted with two years ago this season. The Blue and Gold will be led by the talents of seniors Josefine Cloutier (Greenfield, MA), Sierra Bursch (Lunenburg, MA) and Maddie Parker (Leominster, MA) alongside a wide range of skills from the returners and fresh talent to the squad.

“We’re excited to officially kick off our 2026 schedule and the opportunities that lie ahead” says Monopoli. “This year’s schedule brings a mix of familiar and new opponents, and we’re looking forward to competing, continuing to grow, and getting back on the field together in August. We can’t wait to get started!”
The Lancers season will start on September 1st with a trip to Wheaton before hosting their home opener on the 5th versus Colby-Sawyer. A short break will put Worcester back on the road for the 9th with a trip to Gordon before another weekend at home on the 12th for a local battle versus Clark. Continuing the back-and-forth road-home schedule, Worcester heads to Rivier on the 15th before hosting WPI in the Battle of Worcester on the 17th. The Blue and Gold will kick off conference play in a MASCAC Championship rematch with Westfield State on Coughlin Field on the 19th before a quick trip to Fitchburg State on the 22nd and Framingham State on the 26th. Closing out the month will find Worcester back home to Salem State on the 29th.
After a week break Worcester will continue their home action versus Bridgewater State, on October 6th before moving out of conference for a road trip to Southern Maine on the 8th. The 13th will again see them pitted against Westfield State to start the rematch portion of the conference slate of game. October 17th will bring Fitchburg State to Coughlin in a game to honor this year’s senior class, with Framingham on the heels on the 20th. Worcester State closes out the regular season on the road with trips to Salem State on the 24th and Bridgewater State on the 30th.
