Kim Cosenza Named Head Field Hockey Coach at Worcester State
Worcester, MA --- Kim Cosenza has been named the new Head Women’s Field Hockey Coach at Worcester State University as announced by Director of Athletics Michael Mudd.
Worcester, MA --- Kim Cosenza has been named the new Head Women's Field Hockey Coach at Worcester State University as announced by Director of Athletics Michael Mudd.
A former Worcester State University field hockey and lacrosse player, Kim is currently playing Field Hockey for Hockey Club Pijnacker in the Netherlands. Prior to that, Kim was the Head Coach at Elms College, where she took a team with a 0-17 record and a short time later competed in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship game. She also has additional coaching experience serving as an Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Springfield College as well as other area Field Hockey Camps.
"We look forward to welcoming Kim Cosenza back to our Worcester State Athletics Department. While at Worcester State, Kim was a model student-athlete and has morphed her experiences on our campus into a successful college coaching career. She has a true understanding about the mission of our University and the importance of the student-athletes development, both on and off the field" said Mudd.
With a Master of Physical Education in Athletic Administration, Kim was a professor at Elms College where she designed and implemented health, fitness, and wellness lesson plans to her students. During her time at WSU, Kim was a resident assistant and an intern for the Athletic Department.
Not only has Kim excelled in the classroom and on the field, she has also organized the Elms College Bi-Yearly Community Service project, was assistant coordinator for National Girls & Women In Sports Day at Springfield College along with Play 4 The Cure Day.
"Few people have the privilege to coach at their alma mater. To have the chance to give back to the program that gave so much to me, I am extremely honored and grateful. I would like to thank the Director of Athletics Michael Mudd and the entire Athletic Department for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I am thrilled to be a part of the Worcester State field hockey program again and am eager to begin working with an exceptional group of young women" said Cosenza.
