Worcester State University Football Announces 2026 Schedule
Worcester, MA – Second-year head coach Lazaro Mitjans Jr. is excited to announce the 2026 Worcester State Football Schedule. After finishing last season 3-7 and going 3-6 in conference, the Lancers are set to compete from week one as they look to claim a top spot in the conference standings. Worcester will be led by returning first-team offensive MASCAC selection senior Lance Williams (Westerly, RI), senior MJ Bakaysa (Plainville, CT), and second-team MASCAC defensive selection Wil Vogel (Groton, MA).

We are thrilled to have two highly competitive Northeast teams for non-conference opponents to go along with our conference slate" announces Mitjans Jr. "The Players are working hard at home already preparing to put the best version of themselves on the field every Saturday!"
The Lancers open up their season in week one on September 5th with a new addition to their schedule in NEWMAC contender SUNY Maritime. Worcester will then host their home opener in week two with a conference-opening battle with Plymouth State on September 12th. Week three will find Worcester hosting Western New England in their return series meeting from last season on September 19th, before their homecoming game contest with Westfield State in week five on September 26th.
As the calendar shifts to October, so do the contests shift toward the road, as October 3rd has the Blue and Gold traveling to Bridgewater State. The following week, October 10th, finds the Lancers traveling to the Falcons of Fitchburg State, before a quick home stop on October 17th against UMass Dartmouth. The final game of October will once again see the Lancers on the road with a trip to Dean.
After a late bye week in the schedule, Worcester returns to Coughlin Field for their senior day matchup with Mass. Maritime on November 7th. Closing out the regular season, the Lancers will journey to 2025 conference champion Framingham State, whom they narrowly lost to last season in a 28-27 season-finale thriller.
