Lancers Baseball Closes out Day one versus Corsairs
Worcester, MA- After kicking off their Spring Break action, the Lancers Baseball team (0-2, 0-0) jumped right back into nine inning action with a meeting with local foe UMass- Dartmouth to close out the opening day's action.

How it Happened:
Worcester jumped out first in the first as sophomore Riggs Catlin (Dedham, MA) would force a grounder into the shortstop to send home junior Kevin Doyle (Bridgewater, MA) to open up with a 1-0 lead. The Corsairs would take the lead in the bottom of the inning, grabbing two runs. It was a quiet second but Catlin would open it up in the third with a three run homer to left field for the 4-2 lead.
UMass-Dartmouth would use the third inning to tie the game and the fourth inning would find them jumping out to a 12-4 lead. They would extend the cushion in the fifth to 14-4. Worcester State's junior Alan Carpenter (Richmond, RI) would get one back for the Lancers on a wild pitch in the sixth. The Corsairs would answer with a homer of their own to for a 16-5 game before Catlin would claim one more RBI as senior Mason Bates (Shrewsbury, MA) would close out the action for a 16-6 final.

Worcester State (0-3, 0-0) will again be racing the weather tomorrow as they look to get into a double header with St. John's (MN) in Florida.
