Baseball Finishes Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll
The Worcester State University baseball team found itself in fourth place on Thursday afternoon when the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2021 Baseball Preseason Poll.
WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Worcester State University baseball team found itself in fourth place on Thursday afternoon when the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2021 Baseball Preseason Poll.
Westfield State University garnered five of eight possible first place votes to finish atop the poll with 46 points. With one first place vote and 41 points, Framingham State was second in the poll, while Fitchburg State received 32 points and a first place vote to finish in third.
The Lancers finished just behind Fitchburg State with 30 points for the fourth position on the poll. A logjam for fifth place saw three teams separated by just five points, with Bridgewater State, Salem State, and Mass. Maritime finishing fifth through seventh respectively. Mass. Maritime received the final first place vote. MCLA rounded out the poll with nine points. The complete poll can be found below.
Worcester State will open its 2021 season at home with a doubleheader against Bridgewater State on Saturday, March 27 starting at 12 p.m. Spectators will not be permitted at Lyons Diamond, however all home games this season will be streamed live at wsulancers.com/broadcast, with away games streaming on MASCAC.tv.
