Boyd’s Walk-Off Base Hit in 11th Lifts Worcester State over Roger Williams, 3-2

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Senior John Boyd (Worcester, Mass.) of Worcester State came through with a two-out walk-off base hit in the bottom of the 11th inning to score Robbie Fraser (Whitinsville, Mass.) for a 3-2 victory over Roger Williams (7-7-1) at the New England Baseball Complex Friday afternoon.

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Senior John Boyd (Worcester, Mass.) of Worcester State came through with a two-out walk-off base hit in the bottom of the 11th inning to score Robbie Fraser (Whitinsville, Mass.) for a 3-2 victory over Roger Williams (7-7-1) at the New England Baseball Complex Friday afternoon.

 

This marked the Lancers' (7-7) second last at-bat victory of the season. Down to their last out Worcester State tied it up on an infield error in the 10th then won it in the next inning. Boyd also received the win with four innings of relief on the mound. Jake Ryan (Northbridge, Mass.) had two hits and Adam Barry (Auburn, Mass.) registered three.

 

Worcester State travels to Fraser Field in Lynn tomorrow to play Fisher College.
