Worcester, MA --- On Tuesday, July 29, the Worcester State University baseball team and the Chinese Taipei National Association, who is also known as Team Taiwan, hosted a free clinic at the Kevin Lyons Diamond in Rockwood Park. 25 participants, who were between the ages of 5-14, from the local Worcester community got the opportunity to learn about pre-game stretching exercises, base stealing, hitting and fielding from some of the best players in the world and the local area.
Westfield, MA --- Three-time honorees senior Joe Carlier and junior Joe Perlak highlighted eight selections on the MASCAC Spring All-Academic Team as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.
Harwich, MA --- Seventh-seeded Worcester State dropped a 4-2 decision to the sixth-seeded St. Joseph (ME) Monks in an elimination game in the NCAA Division III New England Regional this afternoon from Whitehouse Field. Freshman Jake Ryan went 3-for-4 at the dish in the setback.
Babson Park, MA --- Junior David Ruggiero as been named to the All-New England First-team by New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) and he was also selected as the regions top shortstop by D3baseball.com.
Harwich, MA --- Seventh-seeded Worcester State fell to second-seeded Southern Maine, 8-4, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III New England Baseball Regional at Whitehouse Field. Junior Cody Osburn registered a pair of hits and an RBI in the setback.
Worcester, MA --- Freshman Adam Barry has had a number of important hits during his freshman season at Worcester State, but none bigger than the home run he blasted in the MASCAC championship game last week against Salem State.
Indianapolis, IN --- The Worcester State baseball team has been slotted as the seventh seed in the Harwich Regional and will take on second-seeded Southern Maine at 8 PM in the first round of the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament on Wednesday hosted by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) at Whitehouse Field.
Worcester, MA --- Junior right hander Joe Perlak has been selected to the Capital One Division III District I Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Perlak will move on to the national ballot for All-American consideration.
Worcester, MA --- Freshman Andrew Wells fired a seven-hitter with three strikeouts as he helped top-seeded Worcester State earn the 2014 MASCAC Baseball Tournament Championship in a 5-3 victory over #2 Salem State at the Kevin Lyons Baseball Diamond this afternoon.

Worcester, MA --- Junior Jeff Bolio registered two hits, three runs and four RBIs – including a three-run homer in the eighth inning – he helped lift top-seeded Worcester State to an 16-5 victory over #4 Westfield State in the MASCAC Baseball Tournament quarterfinals this afternoon at the Kevin Lyons Baseball Diamond.
Westfield, MA --- Worcester State junior teammates David Ruggiero and Ben Libuda along with freshman Adam Barry have been named to the All-MASCAC Baseball Team after a vote by the conference’s eight head coaches. Dr. Dirk Baker was also chosen as the Champions Choice MASCAC Coach of the Year.
Worcester, MA --- The Worcester State baseball team needed to win both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against Salem State to claim a share of the MASCAC regular-season title, so coach Dirk Baker went with his 1-2 pitching punch of Ben Libuda and Kris Doyle to get the job done.
Westfield, MA --- Junior David Ruggiero has been selected MASCAC Player of the Week for his efforts in a 6-1 week for Worcester State. Ruggiero did it at the plate and on the mound for the Lancers en route to their seventh MASCAC regular season title.
N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior teamates Zach George and Nick Gikas along with senior Joe Carlier all contributed three hits apiece as they helped lead Worcester State to a 6-4 victory over UMass Dartmouth in non-conference baseball action this afternoon at the UMD Baseball Complex.
