Worcester State Basketball to Host Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund Pink Out
Worcester, MA- Worcester State University, the Worcester State Athletics Department and the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund have teamed up for the third time, following their success in the Spring and Fall endeavors, in a continued bid to raise awareness for cancer detection and research. The Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund, created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late-stage cancer and increase longevity.

Two Worcester State Winter Athletics teams will be donning pink t-shirts, designed with the Rosen Cancer Awareness logo, on Saturday, February 10th. The Worcester State Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will be hosting a day of cancer awareness when they host Salem State at 12pm and 2pm. Donations and informational material will be available during both games. The Wellness Center and the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund will partner back up four days later, when they host the 2024 Wellness Expo in the same location in a bid to promotes Wellness based businesses, organizations and departments through interactive screenings, demonstrations, educational and awareness information.
The Worcester State Men’s Basketball team is currently vying for the top spot in the MASCAC with a 12-8 record, 6-1 in the conference. The Women’s Basketball team sits in fourth in the conference, with 4-16, 3-4 in the MASCAC, record and a two game winning streak.
